Cycling and walking?
The Southeast of Friesland is rich in beautiful cycling and walking routes. Olterterp is located near Bakkeveen, known for its sand dunes, heath and forests. The National Park Drents-Friese Wold can also be reached by bicycle from Olterterp. It is one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. In 2000, more than 6000 hectares of forest, heathland, drift sand and stream valley grasslands were designated as National Park. The ‘Friese Woudenpad’ touristinfofryslan.nl runs past the hotel.
Visits to cities and towns
Olterterp which is located between Beetsterzwaag and Drachten, is within half an hour of the pleasant cities of Leeuwarden and Groningen. In Beetsterzwaag you will find historical riches beetsterzwaagnatuurlijk.nl, restaurants, specialized shops, walking and cycling opportunities in the surrounding forests and nature reserves and many galleries, including Galerie Lauswolt. Golf and Country Club Lauswolt is only 1 kilometer away from the hotel. A beautiful 18-hole golf course situated among the woods and open fields of Beetsterzwaag. Golfclub Lauswolt in Friesland offers both the advanced and the beginner golfer everything that makes golf so attractive.
